Yesterday, I visited the largest seafood market on the west coast of FL, Ward's seafood.
I had a little buying frenzy and this is what I ended up with. The raws - 1 1/2 lb. live Maine lobster, split in half, king crab claws, soft-shell crab, escargots, super jumbo stone crabs claws, deviled crab and stuffed clam shell:
All cooked on a mini and a small at 400 dome.
First the crab claws. I cut some in half longways to see if I could get some char on the crabmeat.
Soaked the softshell crabs in butter and hot sauce -
Dredged in flour and sauteed in cast iron:
Lobster halves brushed with tarragon butter:
Deviled crab, stuffed clam and escargots:
Kinda a blurry action shot:
Then the stone crabs:
The shellfish was really stacking up on the table by this point:
The stone crabs weighed over a pound for 2 claws - super jumbos. Next to a big wine glass:
No veggies, or potatoes, or bread.... just a shellfish feast. WOW, what a fun wednesday night.

Faith,
Wow,
I would have to take a second mortgage to serve that. Looks like some great stock makings too.

Kim, stone crab season starts Oct. 15th. We should be able to get them for mini fest. Hopefully they will still have the big ones - those are the best.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Oh my, Faith! Decadence at its best! I see you like party lite...I used to sell it; still now host a party once a year so I can stay stocked!

I need your address! What a feast. Great looking food. How long did you cook this stuff without over doing it?
Uncle Phil -
Phil, Thanks. I had the egg at 400 dome, and since the stone crab and crab legs are already cooked, those just had to be reheated.
The lobster and soft shell crab were cooked longer since they were uncooked. The key is to not leave the egg, and montitor each item individually.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
