I'm finally starting to get some peppers off my habanero plants. The one from this plant http://bit.ly/cX4WuT are just gorgeous, but I only have a couple, so far.

With the Dawgs playing late this weekend (for a change!) I thought I might try whipping up a batch of wings in the vein of Big Daddy - OCT's post:

Anyone have a better ides for what to do with the chocolates, specifically, while I wait for the Caribbean reds and yellow habs to come in? (Last year I made a couple batches of pepper jelly with the yellows that turned out great, so I'll definitely be doing that after the harvest peaks.)

Why not try them in a dessert? That seems to be a fad among celebrity chefs these days, to include hot peppers in chocolate cakes, ice creams, etc. I think it's more showing off for them than anything else, but if you're looking for ideas, why not a chocolate habanero chocolate cake?

julia childs mentioned it along time ago on one of her shows that a small amount of hot pepper in a chocolate cake makes it more chocolaty tasting, its supposed to open up the tastebuds, never tried it but it sounds right  habanero might be pushing it though. cayenne chocolate gelato, starts sweet and chocolaty, then the heat builds forcing you into another cold sweet spoon full, really good stuff
