Anyone done them directly on the platesetter legs down?
I'm thinking of trying it. These are jumbo shrimp. 10 to 12 count. Peel them first? I want to do some bacon wrapped scallops at the same time. I will pre cook the bacon. How long and how hot should I go?

the BGE cookbook does a lot directly on the plate setter...let us know how it works, please!

IMHO shrimp generally grill better unpeeled, but you can also wrap them in bacon. Peel them if you go that way. A little DP Raging River to either will add another level of flavor.
Hormel markets two kinds of microwave bacon. One is totally pre-cooked, heat and eat in 10secs or so. The other is partially cooked and package says cook for one or two minutes [I forget exactly]. If you can find this variety it is super for wrapping quick cooking items like shrimp and scallops

Never have done them on the plate setter....
But, love both shrimp and scallops on skewers on the grid, on the fire ring, at high temp.
The scallops I do, often have a bacon wrap...And I baste both with a bourbon sauce to give a nice glaze.
Let us know how "on the plate setter" works out!! -
Well.......not too bad. I overcooked it a bit, but not too badly. Put them on at about 350* for about 7or 8 minutes. I also should have used more oil. They tended to stick to the foil. I didn't take any pics. You didn't miss much.
