Mickey T's Smoke rings
Sundown
Posts: 2,980
ayup, that's what I found as I grudgingly cleaned out my swamp-like office.
For quite a while I used the especially for low 'n' slo cooks and they worked like a charm. the, I guess, I put them away and forgot all about them.
When Mickey first dreamed them up he offered anyone that wanted a set for free. I jumped on and I think I may start using them again!

Ok, i guess i'm curious. I tried to search and found lots of entries, but i can't find exactly what these rings are. Can anyone direct me to pics or the original posting????
Thanks -
I used my set a lot until a guru came into my life.

Here are both kinds

Looks like 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 have smoke on them but the rest don't

Or am I just delusional?

glad you liked MY pictures!!! BTW That large hole in The Wave is a modification I made. That just worked better starting out at more air and then to finesse it from there. Here is the bottom of The Wave and the collar made it stay on vs. falling off which was a common complaint with the simple rings.

Still my favorite MickeyT creation. Sure miss him being around.

no - you are right Frank - in fact it has now gotten to the point I only use 3,4,5 and 6 at all and the years have taken their toll and my rings are black and shiny underneath and mildew stained on top. Not pretty but work well to this day!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Wayne, thanks for the photos. I went out and took a quick picture and was sitting here trying to remember how to load the image into the forum.
Now I gotta go look for the dang instructions!
Where did MickeT ever disappear to? Does anyone know? -
you are welcome for MY pictures!
Last time I chatted with MickeyT via email he said he was really getting busy expanding his business up there near Chicago. He makes the wooden components for a number of hand tools and other equipment for some large national companies.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time -
I was waiting for this response... I knew these were pictures taken by one of the old school members, just not sure which one.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery
