Seven Fires...
Ordered this Francis Mallmann book a few days ago and it arrived this afternoon. I've only looked through it briefly, but some of the recipes look very good. And the photography is excellent! Here are a few that I found online...
Burnt carrots with goat cheese, parsley, arugula and crispy garlic chips...

Sheet music salad (the paper thin round things are tomatoes)...

Burnt tomato halves...
Tournedos wrapped in bacon and sage...

Ribeye with chimichurri...

The chef...

Pretty cool book!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

I like the book as well. The burnt tomato halves are very good!

That all looks really good, but I don't need a book to tell me how to burn things! :P :woohoo: :silly:

Connecticut Yankee, enjoy the book.
I've made the Burnt tomatoe, Goat Chesse, and Anchovy Bruschetta; the Smashed Beets with Greens, Goat Chesse, and Garlic Chips; the Chimichurri sauce; and Salmon a la Vara. There are quite a few more recipes I want to try. -
Rebecca, even though I have lived here for far too many years, I HOPE I am not a Connecticut Yankee!!! Actually, I am a Virginian in exile in Connecticut. Forum handle notwithstanding.

I gotta rig up something for the firepit on my patio. Love a good steak over an open fire, but I haven't done it since the boys were little and we went camping often. Guess that means I will soon have THREE eggs - Large, Mini and the new "Firepit" model.

Michael, I just can't resist calling you a Connecticut Yankee, even though you have thoroughly informed me of your roots!
I think this is going to be difficult for you to shake, lol.
Post pics of your rig! -
Rebecca, what if I just change my sig block?
