Yeah, I know it's multicultural, but I have a friend from Italy that married a Mexican, so it does happen.

We're on a semi-diet, so I used Sara Lee's pita bread for a crust. (1 g sugar). It's pretty good, very crunchy, but you have to be careful not to burn the bottom, since it's already baked.

On the Egg. Note the top centers are different so we could distinguish who's is whose.

Wife (r) and girlfriend enjoying the meal. Uh, let me be clear. I mean wife and HER girlfriend enjoying the meal.

  • Great post Gary. I know you make great food and now I know you have great taste in beautiful women. ;)
  • Creative. What was the time/temp on the pita? Also, the guac looks good - tomatoes are a must for me, too. Have you ever tried green chiles in it?

Gary nothing like having the wife & girlfriend together for dinner   those shrimp look to kill for & the botanical garden even better.... ;)
  • Thanks Tim !!!

I'll pass that on. It'll put her in a good mood, that's for sure. :cheer:

  • Thanks Jeremy. I bet the pizzas weren't on the Egg for more than 5 minutes. I had let the temp get up to 900° by mistake, so the pita was done just as the cheese had melted. I would have liked the toppings to cook a little longer.

I did use green chiles - serranos. Gives the guacamole a little kick.

  • Thanks Beli. Yeah, you can't be too careful about who you invite to dinner at the same time.

I'm with Beli...I don't think many of the shrimp would have made it to the pizza or I would have to do another batch. ;)

Thanks, Berry. I will admit that I had to taste test the shrimp several times to make sure they were done.

  • It looks good - I like the sauce you used.

If Beli ever comes for dinner, you'd better hide the Portmerion!

 Let's see. The baciamella sauce had 1/2 stick of butter and a pint of whipping cream and the shrimp were sauteed in butter. Nah, the chips weren't fat free, but the pita bread had only 1 gram of sugar. Everything balances out, in a way.
