Due to a late cancellation there is 1 room 3'rd floor oceanfront if anyone is interested. It's going to be a great time as the whole resort is reserved for only eggheads. Here's a link and if you want the room just call and mention the eggs. http://www.tuckawayshores.com/

John,, there were a couple of others that had last minute things come up so the waiting list helped. The last one on the list had given up and made other plans. What I don't know is if anyone coming might have reserved a room close by and might want to switch. Looking forward to seeing you both next week. Are you bringing fishing rods or golf clubs? :P

That is my cancellation due to the fact that my wife is having open heart surgery and it is scheduled for the 13th, a month earlier than planned.
They told me there was a waiting list, otherwise I would have posted the room on the forum :(

I'm planning on bringing a surf rod....however, the water looked pretty shallow there for quite a ways out. Anyone catching anything in the surf using any kind of hardware for bait?

John if the waves lay down it should be good. Last week they got 140# tarpon a few hundred yards north and last month a 6 1/2 ' shark just north of the crowne.

Do you know what they were using......lure wise?

For the snook he caught a small whiting, rehooked it and threw it back out not sure what they caught the shark on. If the surf is still high there is a fishing pier in the river just south. Don't worry about the light tackle I'll have a few extra river rods.

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. We have known this was coming but we were hoping to be able to attend the mini-fest before the surgery but her doctors want to get it done right away. She should be back on her feet in 6-8 weeks if everything goes well.
She will be getting a pig valve and I have been put on notice about Pig jokes/Oink noises,etc, so send me your best ones :P

Frank, you've only been married 2 weeks, and your already in trouble?
I sure hope the surgery goes perfectly.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
