Thank you for posting that link today thailandjohn!! What a great site. did this dish tonight as it was things I thought I could scrape up here on the coast of Maine. thank goodness Richard in FL had sent me a care box with lime leaves in it
http://www.thaifoodandtravel.com/recipes/baschi.html

the basil, garlic and hot pepper are out of our garden

all happy in the wok

the recipe called for boneless thighs, but had breasts already so used those. and chopped fine.

plated with corn on the cob. well off the cob for me lol

Nice looking meal. About time you opened your care package and found out what was in it. When are you going to post the LONEY I sent you??
-
that was the first time they had that at the grocery. I am a ginger nut so figured ti could not be bad LOL it did add nice flavor. the dish was very fragrant anyways with all the basil and garlic.
-
That looks GREAT! I may have to break out that rusty old wok Richard sent me and try that one!!!
-
haha Richard, believe me I did not even get it in the house that day! I was like a kid at Christmas :)I still have all the stuff to do the soup but it has been so HOT. I will when we get back from fl next week and post it. thanks again :)Postal lady must have stolen the looney.. thank goodness!!

SHAME On you!!! really truly Hoss??? you have not used the wok?? we use ours all the time it is not just for stir fry. shame on you!
-

I cleaned and seasoned it! :ermm: -
That sounds like Steve asking for a jello shot at the afterparty but it sure looks good
-
Kinda like getting the kids dressed and fed for school but not making them go.
-
I'm thinkin we may have the "debut"sometime this weekend!!!
-
oh Hoss when we went camping last month I think next to my 12in cast frying pan the wok was used more than anything. it is hot NOW and gets a perfect sears on small pieces of meat and vegis. any soft vegis all tossed together and seasoned and then a little grated cheese. good place to start!
keep the tomatoes out or very light till it is really seasoned. it will eat the seasoning right off :S -
Julie: Great looking meal! I am rather addicted to those flavor profiles!! Nicely done!
Hope you loved it! -
that looks good. Do you grow your own thai basil?
the beef version of this dish is one of my all time favourites.
There is a place in town (Siam Bistro for the locals) that I've been going to for over 10 years. Whenever I go for lunch, I don't have to order, the waitress just knows(B Beef).context is important
-
Looks delish, Julie! Love the fresh basil and garlic.
I will take an old wok if Richard has any more!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
3 Large, 1 Small, 1 well-used Mini -
