Hosting two couples for pizza and a movie on Sunday. Planning to cook my deep dish pizza and a couple of thin crust pies.

Thinking about toppings for thin crust pies. What are your favorite pizza toppings?

When we have guest over for pizza, we lay out a number of different toppings and let them build their own pizza. Some make simple 2-3 topping and other load it up... The fun part is watching them get into the whole cooking experience... They get to build it, "peel" it on the Egg, pull it when done, cut it up, and then EAT it!!

Kind of an odd combo if you ask me, but my brother suggested mushroom, black olive, jalapeno and pineapple. Surprisingly tastee combo and I still make them that way sometimes. Just for something a little different. :)

I like all the usuals except for Bell peppers that don't like me. One unusual one that I had in a great Pizzeria in Fort Lauderdale, I think it was Big Louie's on Sunrise Blvd., and liked very much was eggplant. They had taken small eggplants and sliced, breaded and fried like for a parmigiana before hand that were half buried in the extra cheese. It was very good and goes well with the vegetarians. ;)

Our egg, which art in sizes, hallowed be thy smoke, thy will be grilled, at home as it is at eggfest. Give us this clay our daily brisket and forgive us our rubs, as we forgive those who gas grill against us, and lead us not to flashback but deliver us from overnighters. For thine is the grill, the smoke, the egg. Let's eat!

I'll also add yellow hot pepper rings for a little kick.

This has to be the best idea yet. Everyone has different tastes in pizza. I would NEVER EVER EVER put anchovies, eggplant, mushrooms, pineapple, artichoke, jalapenos or, God forbid, feta on my pizza. But obviously, others would.

Give 'em a choice. Next time, you'll know what to buy more (or less) of. :)

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

    Hi Di

I can't remember it the eggplant was actually breaded or just dredged in flour before frying. It was a fairly light coating as I recall. It was a nice compliment to the other toppings.
