    Molly,

Those look great! Mine took on such a strong smoke taste, I think I might have put them on the fire too soon. I's sure your's will be much better.

They sure look good. We hardly ever see them in the stores here (Mobile Alabama). Would love to roast some myself...enjoy! :P

Molly what are you doing with them?
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

  • Those look awesome!!! But here in DFW we are spoiled by walking up to the Central Markets and having the roasters going full blast, throwing out the smell (and tonnage) necessary to keep a Hatch chili loving region like Texas going!!!! However, I am sure your chilies (with a little food love applied) are just as good, if not better!!

Looking good Molly, I have never had the hatch chilis, I have heard about them for many years, do they have much heat?

  • Are you going to freeze them? I did a bunch last year and vacum packed them after removing skin. Worked great!

They have different heat levels. You can buy what you want.

Since I live in Georgia I've never had the chance to taste hatch chilies. I'll be in San Antonio on a business trip in about ten days. Will I be too late to give these a try?

  • MtnBlue,

You can find them for a while at Whole Foods in Atlanta.

Also a great place to sample is Taqueria del Sol. They have several locations around Atlanta. Be sure to note the Hatch celebration Sept. 12th, at the Howell Mill location

Cool! Thanks for the information. I've enjoyed a few meals at Taqueria del Sol before. If anyone can use these chilies correctly, it would be them.
