Anyone Have "Scissor" Egg??

Just picked up my 2nd large egg off Craigslist and it has the "scissor" band. Just wondering how many people have the same type band? I think I might try to restore the band back to original condition. The band is starting to get rusty. Throw it in the bead blaster and then spray some nice new paint on her. I'm trying to keep the price down since it's the back up egg. Would buy the new style spring band if I really wanted to go all out. I'm thinking I want to keep her old "vintage" look. The previous owner said the egg was 7 years old. I would say under 10 years old. Just wondering if anyone else has tried to restore this type of band? Anyone have this band? Pics? Thanks!!!

    I have a large with the scissor band and it is about 10 years old. The gasket is shot and the fire box has been JB Welded a few times. Have thought about replacing with the new spring band but so far I have no problems.
    I did restore an old Imperial Kamado last year which had a 1/2 scissor band and for the money difference I just sand blasted it and sprayed w/BBQ grill high temp black.

    I've got one on my 12 year old Egg. Still works. Band set in my garage for when I get around to upgrading it. The bottom vent died years ago and I replaced it with the newer stainless version.
