Cheese Stuffed Hamburgers

Jackie wanted Cheeseburgers tonight so I said lets stuffed them.

She put them into a burger press to form them thin, shaped them with her hands.

She then put some white sharp cheddar cheese and Stilton blue cheese on the patty

She then put the top on and pinched the ends and formed the patties.

We used the whole-wheat thin buns.

On the CI grate @ 350* seared for 4-min a side.

Added cheese to the other two.

These were really good, this is the first time we did them, we'll do them again soon.
Thanks for looking
Ross

Wow that looks excellent! I just watched an episode today of BBQ university with raichlen (not a huge fan of the show, but not many bbq shoes to pick from!) and he made stuffed burgers with butter and a burger with cheese all in it. I have to say your idea of putting the cheese in the middle and placing two patties together looks like a much better idea! Will certainly have to give this a try in the future!

These look great Ross, my compliments they have made me hungary. I picked up a book by SR a few years ago by chance and since then I have got hooked on this style of cooking. To the point of buying a BGE in Italy! It is all his fault LOL. He has some fantastic ideas, and a few "not quite so well done". Pity I can't see the show here and judge. Andy

Darn fine lookin burgers there. They are commonly refered to as "Juicy Lucys" up north somewhere where the show Foodwars was being filmed. Gotta agree with Beli and the stilton. Makin me hungry early in the A.M.

Ross your picture stories always look as good as your food. ThanksSalado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd.

Minnesota special "Juicy Lucy". Matt's and 5-8 Club are local restraunts here in Minnesota who have fought one another for the last 50+ years of the inventor of the cheese stuffed burger. Matts has one way and the only way stuffed American cheese. The 5-8 Club gives you the option of picking the cheese for your burger. The two restraunts have been on several food shows. I believe they featured it on Man vs. Food as well. Thats exactly how I make my burgers. Nothing better!"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Just found the thin buns a month ago, I think we will never go back to the puffy regular hamburger bun again, they add so much taste, and you can really savor the flavor of the burger. Took me awhile to make my two patties small enough, that when I put them together they don't look like a meatloaf :woohoo:
Thanks for the great instructions

Nice job!Large and Small BGE * www.quelfood.com -
Ross that is a fantastic looking cook, I love those thin wheat buns. I would bet they would be great with some burgers.
You need to change your handle to the Grill Mark Kid. hehehe
I think I am going to stop egg'n and pitch a tent in your back yard. I promise to be there for every single meal, load and light the egg for you.
How did Jackie like the burgers? You also need to post (or email me) the recipe for Jackie's Ramen Noodle salad. I tried to do one last night and it wasn't all that good.
Congratulations on another great cook.
