What a Green Egg Cap Sounds Like Hitting Concrete!

A dull thud, much lower frequency than say a coffee cup...followed by a howl or cry of an injured animal, and then one or two loud swear words :ermm: !!! Then finally, you hear the feeble telephone call to a dealer asking to order a new cap.....
But, the blackened Grouper was awesome (thanks to Frank From Houma for YouTube vid and advice).

Thanks in advance for the recommendations to glue it back together, but this thing REALLY broke apart!!!

I glued mine back together using JB Weld.
It works and serves as a reminder... -
Not that I have heard it yet, But I bet it does not sound as bad as an Egg hitting it.. have seen a few sad pics of crashed eggs :( my Maine eggs are in a gazebo summers and the caps just hit the wood floor if I happen to forget LOL the FL eggs are on concrete and I have had the cap hit a few times and my tummy drops. :pinch: so far so good but I am pushing it I know :( glad it was just your cap

"Sparky" took one of my broken ones. A marine accidentally knocked it off helping put the egg back in my trailer.
I think he's going to fix it and try to sell it HAHAHA -
You mean like this

Sorry to hear that. I glued some extra gasket material to the inside. Keeps it pretty snug now.Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

DANG!!!!!
Looking at that broken egg is like driving past a car crash! Makes you sick to your stomach, and appreciative that it is not you!!!!

Funny thing is I can tell what almost any size and almost any part sounds like when it hits concrete. A few years ago at the Florida Fest I had my back turned and was 50 yards away hanging a banner with Billy when I heard a small dome hit the concrete. I told Billy what it was and turned around to see Egret standing looking down at his small with the dome in pieces.
It's a crappy thing to have as "your gift". -
This brought both a tear and a smile to my face. Thanks for the post.

Good thing you can cook too...
