Simply Marvelous Spare Ribs
Ross in Ventura
Posts: 7,234

It was a beautiful Day in Ventura today, mowed the lawn edged it and cleaned the patio. Now for the Ribs.

Intermingled some cherry wood with the Royal Oak Lump.

Spare Ribs with Mustard and Simply Marvelous Sweet and Spicy Rub.

Egg @ 240* dome.

225* @ the grid.

Ribs over a drip pan with Apple cider and apple juice.

The trimmed ends on a raised grid.

Spritzed with apple and apple cider juice every hour.

My Sous-Chef Sadie our almost 5 year old Cockapoo.

The trimmed ends came off @ 3-hrs.

Pulled the spares @ 5-hrs.

Carved.

Jackie made a Top Roman salad.

These were some wonderful Spare Ribs, Thanks Steph at Simply Marvelous.
Thanks for looking
Ross

Hey Ross,
Thanks again for the tip on the RO at Wally world. I got my mother in law to pick me up 10 bags yesterday when she went to the super outlet mall.
Do you know if they stock RO all winter? Does it even matter is SoCal? I got a little worried when SEARS had a BBQ fire sale. I thought there may actually be seasons down here.
Great looking ribs by the way. -
They stock up to Christmas Season so you have to stock up for the first
quarter or more, its a good thing it doesn't spoil
Ross -
Thanks. That's good to know.
-
Ross and Tweev: Same thing here! Once Thanksgiving approaches, it seems the "garden center" is transformed into Christmas central!! I mean, it's Florida for goodness sake!! What? No herbs for planting? And what do you mean no LUMP??? Thank goodness we have Restaurant Depot close by, at least for the lump.
Ross...Some fine looking ribs there my friend!
-
Hmmm.. Now I only have 12 bags total left. You make me think I should stock up with some more.
-
As SOON as you see the Halloween decorations appearing, clean out the lump section!! That will be the last you see until mid January.
-
HA try living up here in Maine! they think the BBQ season is the July 1st to Aug 10. nothing comes in after that! thank goodness Wicked Good ships!
-
Great looking meal AND yard, Ross.

Faith - I show Ross and Jackie's backyard photos to my traveling companion all the time.
I tell her that Ross mows and edges and Jackie takes care of the rest.
She says: that's nice, now get off your unagressive lazy arse get some garden work done.
Ross - Nice ribs and the yard is beautiful -

Good looking food, Ross. The blue sky is actually pretty blue, too - no smog in Ventura? Tell me about your table - looks homemade and very portable. Also, how do you like your lamp? About how large of a radius does it affect when running?
Sorry for all the questions, but that's what ya get with all those pics! -
