What\'s Hanging from Your Chandelier??

I wanted to make some fresh pasta tonight. It is EASY in the food processor, sorry no pics of it being made into a doughball - 3/4 cup of all purpose flour and 1 EXLarge egg (add teeny bit of warm water if it doesnt turn to a dough ball).
Here it is after being rolled thin (# 5 on the altas), then put in the fettucine roller:

Even the teenager got a tiny bit of enjoyment from rolling the dough through the angle hair setting:

How bout some raviolis?? This is ground chicken, fresh spinach, italian cheese, and fresh parmesan:

Here is the hanging chandelier pic!

And had a friend stop over and take on the rolling of the dough:

Some fettucine with fresh pesto - WOW

Ravs with vodka sauce and fresh basil:

And to keep it ON TOPIC, hear are some marinated duck breasts that I made last Sunday:

Sliced:

Tonight was fun making pasta from scratch. It's super simple, give it a try!

Great post. Pasta looks fantastic. Does the machine come with all the attachments. I love home made pasta. I have my grandmothers ravioli rolling pin. Don't know how old it is but I'm 58.

Excellent! I enjoy a good pasta, think I'll make some this fall.
Oooooo, those duckies look yummmmy, good idea using the cast iron pan. Very nice. Thanks for sharing! -

Another dandy, Faith.
except now I feel the need for one'a them fancy noodle makers and should probably try domesticated duck someday too. I'll bet they have a much different flavor than the ones putting on thousands of miles a year. -
Looks great Faith! We have the same pasta press and love it.That is also some tasty looking duck.

Chief, it is an Atlas pasta roller, and it came with the fettucine and thin spaghetti attachment. I bought the ravioli attachment separately. We ended up doing the ravs by hand cause it came out better. Use your grandmas roller to make some ravioli. I bet they would come out great. And it's fun!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Adam, the domestic duck is wonderful. It was marinated in an orange red pepper marinade. I would love to try some of the wild duck. Duck fat rules!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Faith: Great post! Nothing like home made pasta!! (Well...except for the mess that's left behind, which really sucks!) Love the chandelier part, and especially the foil on the hangers...lol. Great post, I am sure it was delicious, and great to see your son involved in the process!! Nicely done!

Thanks, Michelle. I am still cleaning up from it! But it was worth it, and the disinterested teenager was interested temporarily, so that was a good thing.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

The food looks great! How long did you leave the pasta hanging? Why don't you ever bring your "friend" to the fests instead.
-
Faith, I love the fresh pasta.
Looks classier than mine hanging from broomsticks placed over two chairs, lol. -
Todd, what we didn't cook and serve right away, I left hanging til the next morning so it could completely dry out. I broke it in half removing it from the hanger and placed it in a 1 gallon ziplock bag. Going to cook it tonight!

Ha Ha Rebecca! We even ate dinner under the hanging noodles!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
