Someone asked where do you get Lazzari charcoal

If you live in the San Francisco Bay area, you can get the Lazzari Lump at their plant in South San Francisco

They also have Orange Lump and many different kinds of chips an chucks at great prices

I buy chips at $43 for a 50lb sack and I divide up with my friends

I usually buy several bags on each trip and my friends can get them from me as needed

On my next pick up from them, I will take some pictures of their place and post here.....it will blow your mind

  • I agree, great prices, but I'm not sure I like Lazarri Oak all that much. It doesn't last as long as BGE/RO. I haven't tried anything else yet.
  • So far I have had no problems...it might be that I also use a Stoker

I have done many long cooks, 16 hours plus, longest being 27 hours and loading my XL full, I always charcoal remaining

With the price just under $17 for a 40lb sack I think it still comes out much cheaper even if you would use a little more

I also use every bit of charcoal, except the dust, by using my screen to sift the smaller pieces.

I sprinkle the very small pieces on top of the larger pieces

I use their Mesquite for my very hot burns, steaks, etc, and I also add some of the Mesquite to the lump for my Brisket cooks

I usually buy 6 bags of Lump and 2 bags of Mesquite on each trip to Lazzari. They are located about 30 minutes from where I live and most of the time, I just drop by when I am in their area
