A couple weeks ago someone suggested that I raise the pizza stone off of the plate setter with (I think) copper piping...does anyone know how high I should get them, i was thinking 2 inches should do it...also I wanted to confirm that copper was correct...I like to go about 600 degrees for my pizza.

Quick answer: just use some 1/2" copper fittings. I use four elbows which provides a good solid base for a stone, roast pan, etc.

Just the width of a half inch elbow or T

I use a set of 3 green feet on top of the platesetter.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
3 Large, 1 Small, 1 well-used Mini -
Yes...that'll work just fine.
While the "small elbows" do/will work...the taller the better.
You'll get better top browning if you can go up further...asd in your 2" example!
EvansI spent most of my money on good bourbon, and bad women...the rest, I just wasted!! -
Why not just put the plate setter in legs up with the grid and stone on top? I do this with a grid extender to get even higher up in the dome. -RP

I just make 4 little balls of foil

Perhaps use a few pieces of (pre-soaked) smoking wood chunks...acts like a plank and you get the flavor of the smoke.
I tried this with a brisket and it was awesome! -
These are the copper couplers I believe you're referring to. About 2 1/4" high, 1 1/2" dia. But any spacer will work. just try several heights to see what works best for you.
