My big cook for the weekend - thanks Webecca
Roasted some corn on the XL - 18 ears

Red bell pepper, garlic and red onion slices below
Sweating green onions

Added 4 cups heavy cream and 6 cups lobster stock to the onions
Stripped the corn and added to the pot
Saved kernels from 5 ears on the side
Pureed the Bisque in a blender
32 ounces of crab meat - Deluxe, Jumbo Lump, Lump, and Claw

Added the reserved kernels and the crab meat

Garnish with chives and red bell pepper puree

"W" is for Webecca - thanks for the inspiration

MIghty fine -- MIGHTY FINE!
I love the slightly sweeter flavor of the claw meat added to crab recipes. Great call. -
looking at your pics i noticed the different seal, what is it?
-
Frank, I didn't think Rebecca's chowder could be topped, but it looks like you did it.
-
Kind of a spendy dish, but sure looks good. Wish we all could try it.

You're killing me here.....question - the crabmeat is shaped like it came out of a bucket. Did you buy it or did you hand pick all that? If so, what brand do you like?Judy

Judy - I caught them

I chased them down in the seafood section at HEB - it was the catch of the day
It was quite a struggle flipping those little 8 oz tubs over

Thanks Mike - I know you must have had similar in your neighborhood
We used to order it at Dave's Country Kitchen in Houma -
Thanks Molly

Just under 40 clams
I mean crabs. The corn was 3 for a $1 so I have +/- $50-55 in the pot
But we have about 20 servings
-
Come on over - always welcome
But haven't been able to fish so we'll have to hire a guide
-
Thanks dude

It would go well with a Pinot Grigio, but

The best I've had was from John Folse's place in Donaldsonville. Man, can that guy cook. Yours doesn't look too shabby either. 2 lbs of crab meat, gotta taste good.

Frank, that takes corn chowder over the top! You did Webecca proud. But, whatever do you mean it's the big cook for the weekend??!! I'm sure you have something even over the topper to show us tomorrow!Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
