Cast Iron Flat Iron Steak

First I wanted to gill fresh sweet corn. Aroma is outstanding as the husk get toasty.

Next I wanted farmers market baby red potatoes sautéed in butter with my garden parsley so I changed setup to the spider and wok.

Did not take long, taters are done.

Now to the steak- my first flat iron steak. I thought my cast iron griddle would be appropriate for this meat. Changed setup again.

Got the cast iron hot and put a nice flat iron steak on. Raisin the Steaks seasoning, extra salt and some canola oil.

The flip. ~sizzzzzle~

The egg adapts to a wide range of setups! :cheer:
Rested then sliced a chunk off for my dinner.

I loved the steak, great flavor, tender and juicy. Made a great dinner.

Cheers to the egg, the spider and to flat iron steak!
Drink of the summer; Margartini's :woohoo:

I really like your sear setup. I'm assuming you are cooking on a large? I really want to use a spider to sear on my medium. I think this just might work for a medium. I was actually thinking of using a CNC laser to cut out a cast iron griddle to creat a square CI grid sear with my homade spider, but I think this would be much easier
Thanks for your post.
Anyone out there come up with any other ideas for spider searing on a medium? -
Nice!!

that looks great !
A superb cook ! -
Yes, I'm cooking on my large egg.
The spider is great for a wok, the main reason I bought one but it also supports the cast iron griddle, drip pan and pizza stone for indirect setups. I use the spider often.
Good luck and have fun. -
Thanks Molly. I'm inspired by your cooks as well.
Actually, I do have degrees in art and design. Cooking is creative!
