BB Ribs done with a mop and finishing sauce

Sunday here in the south and 100 degrees so what better thing to do than cook some ribs with a cooler full of beer. Made a basting mop sauce: 1 qrt of Vinegar,1.5 cups of sugar, 1/8 cup of salt, some pickling spice in cheesecloth, 1.5 sticks of Parkay, crush red pepper, 1 tsp pepper and 1 sliced lemon..simmered it to meld the flavor. Basted the ribs every half hour or after 2 beers. Finished with a coat of Bone Sucking Sauce. Why so much work?...The wife was cleaning the house and I couldn't leave the ribs with a cooler full of beer..LOL

  • Good work Mike! Come for the ribs, stay for the beer eh?

    I just finished up my jar of Bone suckin yesterday for my mother in law that is visiting on some pulled pork that I made. Good stuff - I was looking at the ingredient list and may try to hack it. I'll let you know if it works out.

    Some mighty fine ribs there as well as the whole meal in general. Got to agree with you 110% on the cleaning thing. When she starts cleaning house I call it a cleaning frenzy. Sort of like a shark to a fresh kill. Anything in the areas going to get its head bit off so best to stay out in the Shack cooking and drinking cold beer where its safe! ;)
