How do you do your black beans?

Frank, that is one nice fusion arepa rellena! :)

What all did you put in the beans? They look tasty.

That looks better than the pulled pork I get here in Carolina!

I cook my black beans with about a 1/2 pound of bacon cut up in tiny bits, and chopped onion, green onion, celery, and garlic. I don't measure but approximate quants are:

1 lb bag of dry black beans
    2 cups of chopped onions
    1 cup of green onions
    1 cup of chopped celery
    1/4 cup chopped garlic
    Water

Saute the bacon but not crisp then sweat the seasonings. Cover the beans with water and bring to a boil then reduce to low cook for several hours. They will get real creamy.

Look Frank. You know I all ways love your post but this is a little off the deep end. You don't have enough meat in the pic to feed a half grown chimpmunk much less a grown man like yourself and what the heck is a "arepa". I can't even pronounce it much less know what it is. Looks like a Mc Muffin I got a Hot Springs for breakfast yesterday!! ;) :P (Saved the been recipe. Thanks Frank and tell the better half me and Doreen said hello!)

Arepa is kind of a cross between an english muffin and grits
