Today the "Harvest 2020" ????? copy of Penzeys Spices catalog showed up. It featured their new creation of Arizona Dreaming spice/rub/whatever. I assume some of you with Penzey stores may have already tried it...what do you think/susggest/etc? BTW I can't tell you how many page corners I have turned on that catalog with submitted recipes I'm dieing to try!

    Morning Ron:

We got our copy yesterday and the Arizona Dreaming does look interesting...may have to add that to the next order.

    Have a GREAT day!

  • I got the catalog, too, and I had to wonder about the name: the mere mention of AZ can be polarizing these days. Guess it was too late in the development process to rename it "southwestern sprinkle" or some other innocuous line...

I bought the one ounce size jar, but I haven't used it yet. It smells like a rub, so I'm anxious to try it on something.

The ingredients are: ground ancho, onion, garlic, paprika, citrus acid, lemon peel, chipotle, red pepper, jalapeño, cocoa, natural smoke flavoring. With a lineup like that, it can't be too bad !!! :)

They couldn't have named it Southwestern, because they already have one named that, which is excellent, by the way.
