and what are you doing with it?? had the first batch of fresh green beans last night ;0 heaven!!! and the zucchini is coming strong and the summer squash too! this will be the best garden we have had for a few years. weather has been just right up here. anyone growing anything different? we not far enough into the season to be sick of anything yet heck we just picked the first two cukes this morning. I thought Neil was going to hide them in his truck to make sure no one ate them while he was at work today! LOL We are way behind most of you I am sure but it sure is nice to finally be picking some goodies!!

Zuchini & squash were a total bust (got too hot too quickly)
Tomatoes are doing great...cantaloupes are coming along nicely..and peppers are starting to come in...oh and blueberries are getting picked every other day...it will be a few more weeks before peaches are pickable...

Harvested my cippolini onions last weekend. Still trying to figure out what i want to do with them. Maybe onion marmalade.
Thinning leeks and carrots, so have tiny salad additions.
I planted way too much arugula, and the "Amish Deer tongue" lettuce overflows.
Basil, thyme, oregano, marjoram, mint, sage, parsley, chive. As much as I'd like.
I have a mound of West Indian Gherkins from seedsavers that is producing. Strange little things, spiny all over, need to be shaved. Flavor is good, tho', kind of between a cuke and a mellon. http://www.seedsavers.org/Details.aspx?itemNo=1434
I had a lot of fingerling and blue potatoes sprouting in late winter, so threw them into the ground in early March. No harvest yet, but they are some of the best 'tater plants I've had yet. Some are even making seed pods/bulbs (?)
Scarlet runner beans, some peppers, and garlic, really struggling. Doubt I'll have much from them. -
Just got back to the garden after a week out of town. Picked my first two tomatoes, a few zucchinis and a few eggplants. We're having a good year for swiss chard. It's going crazy! And the kale is ready to harvest. I have lots of pepper plants that are giant, but not too many fruits yet. All in all, it looks great compared to last year's bust. Not bad for northern Massachusetts!

I didn't plant anything until June 1st, so had a later start than everyone else in the state.
Picked 4 cucumbers so far. Put these with some chopped tomatoes(store bought), vinegar, sugar and oil. Marinated overnight pretty good. No tomatoes on my vines yet.
Kohlrabi is coming on nicely, nothing picked yet.
I see the beans are ready for their first picking, will probably pickle them if there is enough.
Also have 10 or so jalapenos still ripening, and about 10 bell peppers still growing. -
It's been hot here for us this year and zucchini, squash, and cukes are all about done. We're currently buried in tomatoes, chiles, and herbs. We're having sliced tomatoes and salsa with almost every meal right now. We'll probably have to start smoking, canning, and drying tomatoes and chiles for the winter in the next couple of days -- we can't keep up. (Sacrilegious note: I use a Big Chief electric smoker for preserving chiles and tomatoes.)
We had our first pot of field peas last night -- awesome. We're also getting some eggplants -- had grilled eggplants with ricotta and roasted tomato relish the other night.
Still waiting on watermelons and Bhut Jolokias. We'll likely start picking both sometime in the next couple of weeks.
Raspberries were a bust, but we do have some nice volunteer wild blackberries. -
It has been a weird season this year...not hot enough
So far we have picked all the strings beans...put in a second crop 10 days ago.
Tomatoes are coming in on a regular basis...planted them in earth tainers...some are over 8' tall :laugh:
Zucchini just started..not sick of them yeat and no one is running away everytime they see me.
all the garlic has been picked and is drying.
Egg plants are looking good..just flowers
Many different types of peppers are about ready
I know I have more stuff but I can remember...must be that age thing.

Central Iowa here, our garden is also producing well, cabbage,broccoli,grean beans, summer squash. The tomatoes are just beginning and we have enough sweet corn for half the county, 24 rows 700 ft.long. We give sweet corn to the church, all the hired help and give it to anyone who wants to come and get it. We still have a lot that gets plowed under in the fall. It's too hot here to grow anything. You guys are lucky.
Even the produce at the produce stands stink. And the tomatoes are awful.
FaithHappily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!
3 Large, 1 Small, 1 well-used Mini -
We are picking Zukes, Cukes, Pole beans, Jalapeno peppers and Eggplant. First Tomato tomorrow (Yeah I know Stike showed a Red one weeks ago (probably store bought) we are going to have a huge crop of Butternut Squash. Lettuce is about done, will start more soon. Still waiting for red peppers. Will get around to photos sometime :laugh:

Forgot to mention the Garlic was just pulled and the Blueberries are almost non existent.

Lucky you. On the South Shore, I'm still looking at green tomatoes and not much else, except the f-ing woodchuck who keeps trying to get into the garden. I have a couple of tomatillos that look ready though.
No cucumbers or eggplants yet, and a couple of small peppers on the plants. Hopefully it will pick up now that we've had some rain.

My vegetables were toast by the first of June. However, the Mexican veggies are abundant in the grocery stores. My herbs are still putting out (basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, chives).__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious

Tomatoes,peppers,eggplant,Zucs and yellow crookneck squash,cucumbers.Eat some,can and freeze some,sell some at the Farmer's market.All of this was picked this morning.

Eastern Nebr. here, good and timely rains all year thus far, somewhere North of 10in. above average. What has not been damaged by the high winds is fairing nicely.
Various herbs (mint, basil, thyme), jalapenos, tomatoes, corn and cucumbers coming in now.
Posted pics of my first cukes last night, am so damn proud of them will re-post.....

We decided to put the tomatoes in pots this year to protect from beagle damage. They seem to be OK in there, two Big Beefs on the left and a Early Girl on the right. I swear when we got it as a seedling the tag said "Easy Girl", so that is what I called it. Angie keeps telling me it's some Freudian thing. Not sure what that means?

We moved recently so all I have that is harvestable so far is my herbs. My mint, sage and tarragon are doing great. The thyme is still baby sized and I haven't got any rosemary in yet but it's on my list. Got tomato and melons started.Egging on two larges + 36" Blackstone griddle

Our tomatoes were very scrappy this year. I'm going to pull them this weekend and get ready for a new crop. On the other hand the jalapeno and serrano (sp?) peppers have produced most abundantly. My husband does not eat them - so I have given some away, made ABT's, and will be making fresh peach salsa over the weekend.
I'm going to try squash in the garden boxes next... -
plenty of cukes, some zucchinis and summer squash, early tomatoes, and plenty of fruit on my other tomato plants...just getting some eggplant fruit...the rabbits ate my bean plants, and I have a few hot peppers coming in...can't wait.
this will be my best crop in 5 years. -
This is our first year gardening, and we are sharing a huge garden (60x60 ish) with a couple who have been gardening for decades.
The peas, beats, radishes, spinach, lettuces, and kohlrabi are finished. THe beets were less than stellar...we think it was the super-wet spring.
Right now we've got green beans, broccoli, cukes, zukes/summersquash, and the first few tomatoes (cherries) coming out. The cabbage heads are getting big, and it looked yesterday like our partners had recently harvested one. We've been eating chard for weeks, and it's still going strong. Same with kale. Eggplants will come soon, along with the big boom of tomatoes (33 tomato plants!). The first few peppers have been harvested (11 sweet, 11 chili plants), the big boom is still to come...I've got to figure out what to do with all these banana peppers. The corn is looking a little weak, but the ears are starting to silk. Also yet to come are the melons, brussels sprouts, carrots, winter squash, lima beans, edamame, okra, and more and more and more weeding.
We do have two rather odd occurences. Our potaotes are drying up. I haven't done potatoes before, but this seems a little early. We dug up a couple that looked thoroughly dry, and the potatoes looked fine (tasted great too). Not sure if we need to get all of them out of the ground, though...I'd hate to see them go bad. Also, our onions are already drying up. I thought this wasn't supposed to happen until later in the summer.
We've been home from vacation for two days. On the first day, we had DP's maple salmon with chard sauteed with red onion (both from the garden), and fresh pineapple (from the grocery, of course). Last night we had spatchcock with garden potatoes and onions, and storebought carrots roasting in the chicken drippings, and steamed garden green and yellow beans.
We've frozen a little spinach, a lot of peas, and the first of the broccoli. Also destined for the freezer are more broccoli throughout the summer, and lots of green and lima beans. I'm going to have to upgrade my canning gear to handle all these cukes and tomatoes. Viva summer!
