SIL Turkey

Got two SILs visiting this week for 5 days. Smoked a turkey for sammies during the week.
Pumped up the breast with real Canadian Maple Syrop
Got about 6 oz in the breast
Smoked indirect with sugar maple wood at 350 for about 1-1/2 hours
Rub - Hoochie Mama
Cut up the turkey so I could pull the various pieces off as they were done.
Wings came off first and was surprised the thighs at 185 came off before the breast at 160

Sliced the breast and thighs

All vacuum packed

Sampled several pieces of the breast - the maple syrop adds a real nice touch. The sugar maple smoke is nice and light - just right on poultry.

That looks like it'll make some delicious sammies! I haven't used sugar maple for smoking yet. Sounds like the perfect choice for this bird! Good job!

Great looking bird. Even when doing chickens I like splitting the breasts from the thighs/legs into two pieces.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

Your SIL's will be pleased Frank. You'll have some great sandwiches.
Enjoy you time with the inlaws.
I would like to try a turkey maple injection in the future. I'm starting some bacon this week and will add maple powder to my cure. -
Wowwwwwwwwwwwww Frank, Wish I had half your organization skills.... :(

Be glad to be your test case to see how well that turkey mails
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd. -
Judging by the looks of that bird, I would not require a vacuum sealer, just some bread and swiss.

Your turkey looks delicous. I have a breast brining in the fridge now. Hope it comes out as well!
