Thanks, Wess. I'm sad as hell, but it's nice to see the pics. Only met him once, but it was like we were old friends from the get go. He was a good soul.

That really sucks. He was a great guy. Had a bit to do with getting my son into bbq when he let him 'paint' ribs in Omaha. I'm gonna miss those talks my friend.

Oh my Goodness!
Best wishes to the Family! -
I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach. So much to say, but I can't even get it out.
He was a real friend and I am going to miss him terribly. -
I could not sleep so I am up checking on the forum and have learned of this sad news. I met Mike at the 2009 eggtoberfest. We talked on the phone a few times and he had responded to some of my posts. He was always helpful to me. I will miss him. Rest in peace Mike you will be missed indeed.

That was a great fest. I think he was just glad that Chubby wasn't there to drop the ribs on the ground :woohoo:
.....and we all know Mike would have said that very thing! :( -
Rest in peace Mike.... may your heart and soul find peace and comfort.

This is one sad time for me and the forum I'm sure. Mike always gave us support and encouragement. What a LOSS

RIP Mike, hope you are in a better place now. Only one thing to do now, fire up my eggs this weekend for a CWM rib cook in his honor.
-
I'm devastated he was a great friend of ours. Life.......what is life?????.....Rest in peace Mike.

Truly an honor to have known CWM. Mike welcomed Carol and I to our very first Eggfest in Atlanta 2006 and quickly made us feel part of the "Egg family"..He even made certain that Carol got one of his ribs that day..As others have posted, he will be missed on the forum but his life lessons he shared with us and his rib cooking tips will live on..Our sympathy to his family.. Rest in peace Mike..

He helped me with ribs, so eager to help a newbie like me.
God Bless -
I'm a newbie to the Egg and this forum, but I have to say this is the most touching thread I've ever read. I wish I had the chance to meet Carwash Mike. I give my condolences to his friends and family.

I agree with Zippylip, Mike was truly one of those people who was a selfless giver.
He called me on the phone during my first ever rib cook (which was for a big party and celebrity) to make sure everything was going well after helping me online with the details. He called to check several times after my terrible bicycle accident last year.
He helped may people on this Forum with their rib "education".
I am truly shocked and saddened by this news. He seemed to have made a positive move with his restaurant.
May you rest in peace, my friend. You will truly be missed!
Prayers to his family and friends. -
I never got to meet him personally but he was one of the first to encourage me with his posts, replies and help. Rest well sir. I think I'll make some ribs.
-
This is really sad news....Mike was a good guy and friend.I always looked forward to spending some time with him at eggtoberfest.

Go with God my friend.

RIP Mike....

Oooph.
I guess God decided it was finally time to get some decent ribs up in heaven.
His family are in my prayers. -
So saddened to hear this news.
I never met CWM in person but he was always accessible.
As a newbee with a few posts to my name and only a few cooks on the BGE. I consulted with the rib expert for my first BGE rib cook. Mike was in contact with me by e-mail and by phone to walk me through the cook.
His actions exemplify what I love about this forum.
I will miss him - may he rest in peace.
Michael -
We will remember him every time we cook on our BGE's.
I always looked at his recipes when I wanted to cook something. Never forget. RIP -
This is very sad news.... I don't think anyone is ever prepared to receive word of a friend's passing.
Mike was as dedicated to his family of friends as any man can be. He will be missed and his loss will be felt for a long, long time.
