Finally tried the duck and andoille gumbo this evening

Here is the original post

This is outstanding - my traveling companion says maybe the best - I don't argue with her  Some potato salad on the side. Duck thigh and plenty andoille in the bowl.

I know what I'm bringing to work tomorrow :)

Dang it Frank. I could use a nice bowl of that.

  • Using andoille from Bourgeois in Thibodaux is almost like cheating :)

    I am judging. :)

  • First it was duck, then it was crab, then it was Garlic crabs, then it was duck again- with sausage in delicious gumbo! WHEN do you sleep, Frank in Texas??

Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 6 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

You musta put new batteries in your git-up-and-go. Sure is a lot of activity coming from your direction.

Looks good. And if taste is given any consideration at all, I'm sure it tasted good too.

    That's winter time gumbo.

Just kidding...Looks great! Man, you been cookin up a storm lately. The grilled crabbies were fun to see and I always enjoy all your postings, especially with pic's of seafood and red meat and vegetables and bread and desserts. :silly:
Have a great day at work tomorrow.
  • Alex finally took a left - big time rain event for us. Hope our brothers to south are ready for a Cat 1.
  • Pulled a double shift at the Eggs on Sunday :) and just put some extra smoke on the crabs yesterday. B)
  • Neaux new batries - I have a recharging station kinda like the one at the Ranch  Hope the new wheel is feeling better.
  • It is definitely winter time gumbo Clay - of course winter time is relative. When it gets in the 70s we are looking for gumbo - just temporarily turn the air conditioner down and there you have it.

Kinda like putting the heater on and driving with the top down on a convertible in the winter

Thanks Frank I always love to see what you are doing with food. Tim ;)

On RFD tv yesterday there was a 30 min. cooking show. Lucy i think was the lady's name and she boiled crawfish. Well I did spend a winter in Eunice at a KOA campground. I ate so much local food including boiled crawfish. I know I could sit down by myself and eat 5 pounds of dem mud bugs by myself. I'm not a coon ass me but, would be proud if I was! :woohoo:

Frank that looks fantastic. I'm not sure how you were able to let that sit in your refrigerator for a day (I know it gets even better that way, but still hard to wait). I have a lot of duck in my freezer, I know what I am going to do with it now!
