Email from amazon has a pretty sweet sale on lodge cast iron skillets and decent markdowns on le cruset (too rich for me, I have the lodge enamled although I droll over the pricey french stuff)

  • The prices for Le Creuset (at least the ones I glanced at are pretty good).

    As an example, the:
Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 6-3/4-Quart Oval French Oven, Cobalt Blue
    Le Creuset
    List Price: $365.00
    Price: $250.57
    You Save: $114.43 (31%)

For context, this item has a MSRP of: $365.00
    A 2010 Promo price of: $270.00
    The wholesale price is: $148.50

I was at a cooking show a while back and I 'accidentally' picked up a le creucet datakey (t's hilarious, it's in the shape of a dutch oven) that I think was only for sellers (not for guests (ooops..)). It had the entire inventory manufacturers price list on it. Good info.

Fun stuff. Thanks for the heads up.
  • I didn't find the prices very good at all...compared to the outlet store prices. Most of my 12+ piece collection was purchased from an outlet on seriously deep discount. Several times a year, the outlets run big sales on discontinued colors, etc (not just seconds). Even if you're not near an outlet, most will ship direct to you for free when purchases exceed a certain amount. Carribbean blue is on sale 'til the end of the month at an additional 20% off. Here's the outlet website: http://www.lcstores.com/home.asp Note that you have to call each store direct for availability, sizes, prices, so you need to call with a specific piece & color in mind.

    Dirty,
If you decide to splurge on Le Creuset, wait until Oswegofest, and visit the LC outlet in the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall in Aurora, just off 88. They always have markdown prices.
