basic forum advice

Great googalee-moogalee. I came here for help with my new BGE and think I first need help with the forum!!

I've seen a bunch of posts about "T-Rexing" and can't find any posts that explain what it is! Can I get some basic forum tips? I believe there's incredible information here if one can sift it out. Can I get some sifting help or is it pretty much always a needle in a haystack?

the search forum feature is pretty counter-intuitive, i hate to say. not to be harping, or a debbie downer, but it is far easier to search for something here by using google and selecting "search current site"

faster, easier to include/exclude search terms, etc.

there are i think THREE search options here, each one returns different results

very odd.

and the advanced search has very few actual advantages

...sorry. but i hadda say it. :unsure:

How do you "search current site" with google? Can you access that from the egg forum, or do you go to google.com? Sorry for the stupid question.

I entered "trex" in the "search forum" box at the top of each message and the index and got 197 hits. I didn't dig deeper but it appears that more than one would get you started with your first "trex".

The "advanced" search accepts more Google-like queries (e.g. +Trex +steak) and allows a number of other options as well.
