I buy from a local sustainable cattle ranch; Missouri Legacy Beef. Haven't tried anything but local so far. Use a LOT of organic and sustainable ingredients in my cooks...get ribbed about it occasionally.

Haven't tried them, but their prices seem comparable to what I've bought from other farms. And they have a pretty good selection.

The downside of buying mail order is often the shipping cost. I used to get bison from a place a hundred or so miles farther from me than Blackwing, and the shipping was usually just a bit less than the meat, even though the trip was only a day. Did get stacks of freezer packs along the way.

I've found a number of farms within driving distance, and tho' their prices are somewhat higher than online sources like Blackwing, I make purchasing trips every few months, and go home with coolers of product.
