I've been using Dizzy Dust Regular Grind for a lot of my cooks and have run out of the bottle. I'm afraid to buy it in bulk because I'm not sure how long it will stay fresh. It seems like this is the one that I use most of the time. Any thoughts or suggestions? I'm sure it's a lot cheaper to make my own rub in bulk but would have no clue what to use.

Mark, I just checked a bottle of DP Dizzy Dust I have and the expiration is 2012! I think as long as you keek it in an airtight container it should last a long while. It may clump because they dont use any anti clumping agents, nothing a spin in the spice grinder cant cure.

Thanks Jason, I will order it then.

Divide it, vac seal it, and keep the excess in the dark.

You mean I have to go out and buy another toy
I don't have a vac seal yet. -
Mark, you might want to get the course grind. Then when you need the fine grind, jut dump it in a coffee grinder (only use it for spices). That way you basically are getting two spices for the cost of one...

chris has said in the past (and i'm paraphrasing) that the issue after 18 months or so is that some of the flavors may have weakened or faded. spices can lose their potency after a while on the shelf, and some i'm sure might oxidize.
i've found a bottle in the back of the shelf that was three quarters empty, and though it wasn't as fresh as a daisy, the flavors were still good, despite any shift away from the original. they are really very strong, and i'm not sure you will notice a huge difference.
keep them away from light, in a cool dark place. clumping might happen, but only because they don't add any anti-clumping agents. just a shake or spin in a grinder is all it takes.
there's no real issue of food safety -
Ziploc and straw.

I'm almost afraid to respond to this but ok here goes. Are you being serious about the straw?
-
Why not just email Chris and ask him?
I believe he recommends to people that buy in bulk that they store it in an airtight container in the freezer. -
Good advice. I just emailed him about 10 minutes ago. Thanks

Yes, fill the bag half way, roll it and squeeze out as much air as you can. Then seal the Ziploc up to the straw, get as good a seal as possible and carefully suck as much air as possible. Pull the sraw out crushing the end so as not to let out vacuum and seal behind it. Might take some practice. Not as effective as a vac seal but infinitely cheaper. Low tech does work.
