Not bad. Looks like same as BGE lump. Nice large pieces mixed with med chunks. Not much of the small stuff. Used it today, but had leftover lump mixed in.

Regular price is 4.59, on sale now for 3.97 for 8.8lb bag. It Royal Oak made in USA

If that is Royal Oak and you have an extra $40. or $80. bucks on you. You should get 10 or 20 bags. Tim

I never heard of Menard. Where did you buy it?
Any road will take you there if you don't know where you're going.

here's an earlier thread started today on the same topic and discussion about the sale and product.

It's probably wise to load up on that if you got the spare money and room. Tim

They carry this stuff all year long here in Columbia, you will get some bags with a lot of medium and small stuff too. However having said that, I just bought 5 more bags yesterday and I use it for 95% of my cooks. I just can't pay that $25+ price for BGE lump for all my cooks, I use about 8-12 pounds per week. I buy a bag from my local dealer every month or so and mix it in frankly just to support my dealer (who gave me four free feet just yesterday). Menard's Royal Oak in the 8.8 lb green bag is all I ever use. Never had anything but a good experience with it, and the price is right.
Also, they carry it all year round, so there's never an issue of stocking up in the fall, to make it thru the winter.
