Anybody know much about this? Myself and a couple of neighbors might head down from Geneva.

We've gone the last two years, the first year we had 8" of rain, second year weather was good. Nancy puts on a nice fest and we are planning on attending again this year. Last year Mollyshark, ClayQ, BobbyQ, BoilermakerBen, Rick's tropical Delight, and RRP were in attendance. -RP
  • Cool! I was looking for more basic info like when and where?

Plus I have never been to an Eggfest so what do you bring? Do you have to bring an egg and cook? I don't have a truck or a way to get my grill there.

I'm in NC but perked up at the Oswego post. Lived in Fulton (working on the Miller plant) in 1977; our son, second child, born in Oswego. Still remember the law breaking ride up north to Oswego hospital when it came time. We were stumped for a middle name so picked Fulton. Figured we didn't want to go with Oswego;

The when and where is on the banner ad at the top of the forum. They have demo Eggs to cook on. -RP

    YES! Come on down!

There isn't a banner up yet (Nancy says her daughter is working on one), but it is officially announced as September 25. It is at Floribunda Gardens in Oswego.

The fest has been a blast for the last two years. Lots of cooks and tons of visitors. There has also been a meet 'n greet for the cooks on Friday night.

I'm guessing you're thinking of a different Oswego...NY, perhaps? This is Oswego, IL. Far west suburbs of Chicago. We'd love to have you, though. We've had guests from WI, OH, and as far as TX and AZ, so I don't see why NC would be too far. ;)
  • Thanks,

I am going to put it on my calendar.
  • hello people, I just learned of this forum today. Got back from the Oswego egg fest. Good time to be had by all. I want an egg really bad but moneys tight, cant swing it right now. Even at the reduced price the demo's were going for is pretty steep.

QUESTION ... speaking of steep, Why the high admission fee? All the cooks provided the food, right? the nursery got a bunch of business from the fest and sold the demo eggs. there was no entertainment they had to pay for. I just dont understand why so high of addmission. free pop and water BFD I feel, I was taken, anybody else think like this??
  • I am guessing that our fee for those who were not cooking went towards the rentals, trash removal, and to help off set the the discount for the demo eggs. I bet too that they needed to pay for a fee for this site and to have the BGE rep there. I thought that it was very well run and I would gladly pay my twenty five dollars again.
