I was at Menards today and ran across their sale on wood chips in 2# bags for just $1.97 each. It's the same brand and quantity that I normally pay twice that much. Also they have Royal Oak lump in the green bags - says made in the USA on the side. On sale for $4.64 for 8 pound bags. Do the math and that equates to $5.80 for 10# vs. the $6.37 Wally World gets for 10#.

    Ron:

$4.64 for an 8.8# bag IS their everyday price.
Been buying RO green lump there for about a year now.
Not sure 'bout the chunks, but will definately check it out at far terminal!
    Thanks for the heads up!

hmmmm, my Menards seldom carries lump and I swear the package was pretty clearly marked as 8 pounds not 8.8.

Also I said chips - not chunks. I got 6 apple and 6 cherry. They also had mesquite and maple neither which I care for. BTW the chips sale ends 5-23 as I recall.

    Hi Ron,

The Menards locations here in Omaha all carry the RO green bags, 8.8 lbs. Regular price is $4.64. After tax, I pay about 55 cents a pound. It's all I use, and have never had any problems with it.
