The Fresh Market question

Their new store opening locally this fall will be their first here. Does anyone know if FM carries prime beef on a regular basis or not at all? We have 3 local "good" butcher shops but none offer prime anymore.

Their website says "Premium Choice"

Not sure about the prime, but when we are grilling it's off to Fresh Market. Here in Greensboro NC Harris Teeter is by most opinions the top general purpose grocery store, pretty good meat, but...when it comes to good meat or especially fish, it's another 2 miles to Fresh Market. Prices a bit higher, but worth it. If they're convenient to you i'd definitely try them and develop your own opinion...

The one here in Tampa does not carry Prime all the time.
The FM in Clearwater never has any. I don't know the rhyme or reason to it - it would be nice if they were consistant.
Overall though, it's a great market and you should enjoy the other stuff they sell.
FaithHappily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

The one I frequent does on a regular basis. Sometimes they carry Certified Angus Beef, but almost always a few cuts of prime in the meat case. It is really a nice market, I think you'll enjoy it.
Side note, I put my wings in the Georgia Red marinade about an hour ago for Saturday night on your recommendation. I'm looking forward to them. I wanted to add a cup or so of cider vinegar since I love that flavor in wings, but decided to give the recipe a first try as written. -
Rod,
Sticking to the original recipe for evaluation purposes is a good idea - I will tell you though I have found that a light surface dusting of DP Swamp Venom right before going on the grill kicks them up nicely without overpowering the benefit from the tasty marinade. BTW of the 30 in this picture we had 7 survivors which I have thoroughly enjoyed as a cold snack.

I plan to kick them up a little with some venom. Looking forward to Saturday night for sure.

What time should I be there?

HUH? That means that you didn't get Rod's written invitation either! Man, I FedEx mine to you but you never showed! You better check what's going on around your neighborhood!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Our's has some good stuff, but PRICEY!!!

I hear you - IMHO I don't mind pricey if it's something I can't find elsewhere locally and I want it...then that's not being ripped off.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Go online and get on their email list for your local store. You will get weekly emails with the specials. You can get good buys on lobster, fish and various cuts of meat. I always try to take advantage of these specials and put my vacuum sealer to work! :woohoo:

The one here in Greenville doesn't carry Prime. There is a butcher shop right off of I85 that does, and you CAN NOT beat the prices. I buy all of my meat there, and have never had one complaint about it!!

Can't recall if the one in Baton Rouge carried prime but the selection of sausage and cheeses was outstanding, the veggies were beautiful, and it was one of two places I could pick up a tri tip.

You can check out their meat here Ron.I really like Fresh Market stores.

I would look for a local supplier of meats to restaurants in your area. I found a place that will sell me all the prime and tons of other stuff.
