Grilled Asparagus

I grilled a couple bunches of fresh asparagus on the Large Egg. Rinsed the asparagus, dried it after breaking the ends off, then drizzled with EVOO. Sprinkled on some salt and pepper, a little garlic salt, and some Italian seasoning. Placed on the grid at gasket level, flipped over after about 5 mins, then pulled off after another 5 mins. This was dinner along with a couple nice sirloins cut 1 1/4 in. thick cooked med rare and a nice baked potatoe. It was great, and my son who is in culinary school was impressed with the asparagus.

I do it in the microwave for about a minute or two w/ evoo and the dish rubbed with garlic before grilling then finish with Lemon zest. Love grilled asparagus

Asparagus are one of my favorite vegetables. I planned on grilling them on my egg tonight, with olive oil and garlic, and them drizzle them with freshly grated parmesan cheese, which will be good, but your recipe, with all the spices, strangely appeals to me more... :)

Count me in with the asparagus on the egg crowd! When I fix them I just pin them together with toothpicks forming "rafts" which are easy to handle and flip. rather than any set amount of time I merely place them on whatever meat I'm cooking near the end of the cook and they don't burn or get dried out. Works for me!

Try wrapping 5-6 in a little blanket of Prosciutto for each diner.
  • After losing one too many asparagus through the grate, I now subscribe to the "pin 'em together" method, except that I use short bamboo skewers & hook 7-10 spears together in a flat package.
