Bacon NUKE-ing ???
Hoss
Posts: 14,600
I'm gonna grill some quail breasts this weekend.Either raised direct or indirect.I DO NOT want them to dry out so I'm gonna wrap them in cheap thin sliced bacon.I have read on here that some of you microwave the bacon a little before wrapping whatever you are cooking so it will crisp up better. My question is how long to NUKE the bacon.Any help, tips, ideas or hints for this cook are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks. Comments

I usually nuke 2 minutes or so, depending on thickness of bacon.

Just FYI... You cannot dry out any food inless you overcook it. Seriously. Cannot be done.
Dry meat is overcooked meat. -
You are correct.Quail are very easy to overcook.I'm hoping the bacon will act as an insulator too. They will cook QUICK.That's why I want to precook the bacon. If I don't the bacon will still be RAW when the quail are done. Thanks Jeff!
