looking for smashed potato reicpe

I saw pics of smashed potato I do not know if that are what they are called how do you do them? Thank you in advance.

    we make them all the time.... do not skimp on the evoo, especially the bottom of pan.(we use tinfoil). we also put garlic powder on them. enjoy....

    I've tried these number of different ways and have to confess that the Pioneer Lady Person's method is NOT the one I prefer. Instead of using the baking sheet in the oven, us a cast iron skillet with plenty of olive oil and heat it over medium high until it shimmers. DO NOT use a potato masher, but rather something flat like a spatula- you want to flatten the potatoes, not half mash them. Put the flattened spuds in the oil and reduce the heat to a medium low. They will need about 10 minutes per side. Turn them once. Don't screw around with them.

    When done, season with some parmesan cheese and a little black pepper.

    If you want some rosemary flavor, let a few sprigs steep in the oil while its warming.

    If you do these correctly, they will taste like the best big french fries you have ever had- nice and crispy on the outside and creamy delicious on the inside.

    You could probably easily do these on the egg with a cast iron skillet, but keep an eye on the heat.
