Snowing here in Fayetteville, AR, the temp is around 30, will it hurt the egg to fire that sucker up in this cold of weather??? Got a great porterhouse and a filet I need to cook. That thing won't crack will it??
thanks.
BTW, got a great recipe for stuffed pablanos if anyone wants it.
thanks.

You are fine, just warm it up slowly
-
Treat it the same way you would in August. Enjoy your steak!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Thanks fellas. Fire it up we will. Ought to be kind of neat....snowing like all get out with the egg lit.

What Carolina Q said. I've egged in snow storms with below freezing temps, in the 20's.
Maybe I'm weird, and do not have a reason or data to substantiate my action but I do bring my plate setter and baking stone into the house for a warm-up before using them in the cold. :ermm:  -
Take some pics - enjoy your steak

I think you'll be OK. The first pic in the post is from about a month and a half ago. Today is expected to be 74 degrees here. The old saying "If you don't like the weather in Maryland, just wait a minute and it will change" certainly applies.
I think there is a big batch of wings going on the Egg this afternoon for me.

I would like your recipe for poblanos. Always looking for great recipes.

Here's your stuffed Pablano Peppers recipe.
Brown and season 1 pound hamburger and 1 pound sausage. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl add...
2 8oz blocks cream cheese
2 Cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 packages Ranch Dressing Mix
2 big spoon fulls Mayo
2-4 chopped jalapenos. If you don't like the heat, leave out.
Garlic to taste
Nuke the cheese concoction till you can mix it well then add most of the meat and stir it in.
Split your pablanos and fill. You can either cover with bacon pieces or sliced bacon. Started off with the slices but changed to the pieces. Easier and looks better. This will fill approx. 5-6 big peppers.
I bake mine on egg at 350 for 20-30 minutes. These things are addictive. Enjoy! -
Have used mine all winter in Rogers. Hope to
meet you sometime. Thanks for the recipe! -
no issue whatsoever. 30 degrees isn't even cold in my book.
30 degrees means we can still go barefoot to get the newspaper -
I fired mine up this winter at 4 degrees F, felt like -10...Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241

These sound good. Do you have any pics of them? How do you position the pieces of bacon on the peppers? Also, how do you serve them? One whole pepper a person or do you cut them up somehow?
