looks good in theory... BUT a razor knife is faster and ALWAYS guaranteed to work.
-
You're correct. To each his own. This method is also ALWAYS guranteed to work if you do it right!GOOD DAY!
-
And to think this whole time I've been using scissors. :woohoo:
-
OK, so there are other...easier ways to do this, AND it shouldn't really matter whether I open it by stabbing it with the bottle opener end of my spatula or pull the threads. BUT I feel like the bag has won if I try, and fail, so this information is good for my intelligence confidence. THANK YOU!
-
They work too. This is just good to know if you need to open one and don't have a pair of scissors or knife or anything other than your hands. All sewn bags are'nt paper either so rippin em open sometimes is not an option.
-
i manage this about half the time. the other half of the time my eyes can't focus due to the gin or scotch that gets into my eyes.
the funny thing here is that it's not supposed to be a secret. the bags are sewn so that they would be secure when shipped but easy to open. i'm pretty sure the stitching is the same used for grain, and that the charcoal folks co-opted the idea.
thanks for sharing this. seriously, about half the time i get it without trying, the other half i end up tearing the bag open in frustration. hahahaha -
I feel the same way.A DAYUM shame for a bag and a string to beat you.IMHO!!!
-
Some of them can be a little difficult, especially when the Adult beverages are involved.
-
Thanks Hoss I'll give it a try next time I go to open a bag of lump.

Great job Hoss and the bag instructions look good too!
Just kidding ya Hoss, nice job on the photos and that sandwich looks perfect!
GG might want to add that one to his list of tips.

It may take a little practice, but once you get the hang of it.EAZY-PEAZY!
-
Thanks Gator. Just wanted to contribute something useful for a change!
-
Ya big stud.

Finally someone smarter than the bag.
-
Wonder why Grandpa hasn't weighed in yet?

That's all it takes!

I bet if there were a sammie inside as good as the one you show, more people would learn this technique. Thanks for the visual explanation.
-
Finally! No more embarassment from letting a bag beat me.
-
nice to do once, though im sticking with hitting the bag once with my lawn ranger tool and dumping the lump into the egg, its fast and reliable :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
i'm thinking that with the wind off the lake, the puffy winter gloves, and the multiple adult beverages, you are probably right
-
Very nice explanation but a pair of scissors or knife is sooo much more fun... :woohoo:
-
i just picture you on the bag and hit it with a vengence

you had LR put a fancy handle on that knife?
-

I did like you said and it worked with no effort at all! No getting the scissors or a hammer or a knife. I just pulled the string on each side and dump the lump and lite and cook and eat...
