I just got done with the frame of the table, I want to tile the top, but wife has to pick color.Is there something I should make sure not to forget to do before using it.
I made it longer cause I just like to have more room to prepare food.

Thanks for info, I was thinking of a 2" thick concrete slap for the base, but if there is anything better please let me know. What about a 1" ceramic tile?

A 2" paver is standard but be sure and put the egg feet or something else like that between the paver and the BGE...This is to allow airflow as the bottom of the Egg gets very hot...

Here is a picture of my table. It is 6' long as I like the extra work space also. I used granite tiles for the work area.

The BGE now sits on two 2" paver stones and BGE feet. (I had 2 use 2 stones because of a slight mismeasurement).

I'd go with granite like mine below. I didn't put the three feet on the bottom and haven't had an problems.

That is one of the best looking tables I have seen in a while. Nice work. Did you make it all yourself or buy it and add the granite? I would be afraid to cook on it or get it dirty!

You may not see any problems with the granite under the egg but I highly recommend that you use the feet between the egg and the stone. See the detailed article on TNW's site for an explanation of why this is necessary. Good luck and stay safe!

Yep, I hate to get it dirty. My son and I put the three feet under it this weekend. I got the plans from a friend of mine in Oregon but decided to add the granite rather than fire brick and tiles like he did.

One of the best (top 3) tables I've seen, BBob. Very clean. Really beautiful. Stone of any kind really does it for me on the table tops as opposed to wood.

P.S. It's been near three years since you posted the pic above and OU is STILL spanking UT senseless! 63 to 26 this last time around.

We have granite countertops inside. Heat resistant and cleans easy. Seal annually. It's very durable.
