I'll start another informational thread for my own selfish purposes....hope you all don't mind.
I am in construction....so I LOVE tools.....love to buy them, love to use them, etc etc. I am like a kid when I get a new tool. Can't wait to get home to open it and try it out....but don't let my new tools get dirty.....lol.
Anyways, over the past few years I have become as fond of my dinners as I have my projects and fancy trim work....and every time I get online I am seeing something new and I think to myself "Damn.....sure wish I had know about that sooner". I am sure you have all thought that many times too.
So here is the point of this thread: What are some MUST HAVE items, not only for the Egg, but FOR THE KITCHEN that you use in some way during your cooks? I will give an example of something that I didn't even know existed until yesterday, but think is pretty handy and that is a jalepeno corer. I know that may not be a "must have", but you see what I am saying. What are some good things to get, or perhaps some best kept secrets that folks just aren't that aware of?
I am not talking about thermapens and maverick et-73's, and plate-setters, not the usual stuff....not the beginners bag of goodies....but other stuff that you have learned to love......

Jalepeno corer, gonna have to look into one of those... I don't have one, but keep tellin myself that I am gonna buy a "As seen on TV" slap chop, looks so much easier than using a knife and donating fingers to my future cooks

I have one. I bought mine at the "As Seen On TV" store in a flea market.

The bare essentials! Can't cook without them.

Elmer's Glue - Did you know that when you prune your rose bushes that if you coat the end of the fresh cut cane with Elmer's Glue it will form a hard plastic seal that will protect it. The gardens close to the kitchen isn't it?
