Egg in the rain

Is there anything I should watch out for if I cook when it is drizzling rain? It won't hurt the Egg will it?

if its really raining hard you may need to place something over the daisy vent, i jost lay a brick on top so water doesnt pour in, others buy a stack cap at the hardware to sit over it. rain doesnt hurt the egg

I do the Market Umbrella thing as well. Mine has the overlapping vents so it sheds wind as well as rain. Stays up in everything short of a gale.

You don't NEED an umbrella or shelter, your egg will be fine in the rain. But it makes it much nicer for the cook and saves a bit of charcoal.

Here's my rain wear.

Actually yes I would give you one suggestion - the foil around the dome thermometer can prevent moisture from getting inside your dial when the temp is high and the metal has expanded then gets hit with cold water. I had that happen to one of mine.

That is one more good reason to remove that inside metal clip and throw it in the trash!!

Make sure you wipe your feet off before walking onto the hardwood floor.

If I need the large I can get out the rain gear

I have a medium that is covered for most rain cooks

Main thing is to keep the cook dry!
