Had some bacon burger from one of this years deers. Put some DP raisin the steaks and garlic pepper on em. I did these at 325 on the small, direct, with a raised grid.
At last years OKC fest we got goodie bags with several samples of stuff to cook with. One of those was coffee wood. I had not used it yet because I didn't know what it would be good with. Now I know. It gave the deer a unique flavor that the whole family liked.

I'm gonna use the rest of the meat to make monkey balls.

Nice looking burgers. How does Raisin the Steaks compare to other Montreal style steak rubs? We buy the food service size of McCormick's at Costco and use it on almost all beef we cook. I ordered some Cowlick from DP yesterday. I am anxious to give it a try.

Thanks Hoss

I had not heard of it either. It didn't give suggestion on what type of food to use it on, so I just gave it a try.
-
I used Montreal steak before I got my first DP products. I guess the only way I can describe it is Raisin the steaks has a more fresh, less harsh flavor. That type of seasoning can take your breath away if you use too much of it. For me the DP is easier to cook with...simply better.

Love deer burgers.
Now you have me thinking; I wonder how redeye express will work on deer..... -
Actually I had it in my hand and decided to do Raisin...
I think it's worth trying.
