Good thing you got the rig, wouldnt be able to do a few slabs of ribs without it.
Seriously, congrats on your new equipment.

What all did you get with the rig and sliding grates systmem?

Thanks. I havent done many rib cooks before and always felt limited thit the rib rack. Probably going to try one of the 3-2-1 or 3-1-1 cooks. Any suggestions?

I ordered the Oval Adjustable Rig which came with the spider and an oval grate. The Sliding grid system seems to come with another oval grate, the rigging for it to connect to the Adjustable rig at any hieght and another adapter/grill extention to add a cooking great above the top level of the adjustable rig. It really is a ton of options...

I just checked the FedEx tracking site. My AR with sliding grates is on the truck for delivery today! I am very excited to get the package and open it up so I can see it for myself. I ordered the sliding grate package that comes with the spider, a 13" stone for indirect, and a wok.
The only problem is that it has been raining like crazy here in So. Cal. We even had a tornado, which never happens here. I went out Monday to light the BGE in what I thought was a break in the storm. Just as I was getting ready to light, the heavens opened and the rain came down. Within about 30 seconds I was drenched, the egg was drenched, and my lump was drenched. At that point, I decided to do a clean burn instead of a cook. Hopefully, this week I will be able to get back on track.

Dave, I hope the truck gets there soon and the weather cleans. The AR and Sliders look great, very high quality. It should be fun learning all the new things that can be cooked on them.

Like you, I am looking forward to being able to cook more than just two racks of ribs. I think the sliding racks will be nice for putting sauce on the ribs even if I do not move them around like you would on a big cook.
I am also looking forward to using the wok. Should be fun. I bought the longest spoon I could find at WalMart the other day. I will probably still need gloves to keep from getting burned.
Have fun!
