Help - Injured Egg

Hey guys. New to the forum. Hope all is well.
I have a small problem. I have a relatively new Large Big Green Egg. I have it set up on the rolling nest.
Anywho, I set the BGE in my driveway when cooking and set up a block behind the wheels to insure it doesn't go anywhere.
Well it rolled off the driveway and crashed into my yard. I was able to put everything back together except for the folding tray attachment I have. But there is a small crack along the top edge that happened when the hinge strap from the lid was ripped off. The crack runs along the top edge and is approx 3 inches.
It doesn't seem to effect the cooking of the BGE the last two times I have cooked on it... ie; no smoke coming from the crack. But I want to seal it and was looking for suggestions on what to use.
Any suggestions will be helpfull.

Show us a pic.

get some jb weld at ace about $5. Put it on the inside and see how that works. If the inside does not show the crack, run the jb on the outside very thinly.

The crack is both on the inside and outside just under the gasket and runs with it.

Might be considered a bit drastic, but I woul just get the lid replaced. You damage isn't under warranty, but the new lid will be much better in the long run.

If I were you I would call BGE and get their advise.

The crack is on the main shell, not the lid

Fuggedabout it.Keep cookin til it breaks all the way then get a new lid.

Ouch that hurts but it could have been worse. Hopefully mothership may sympathise with you and give you a goodwill replacement? If you end up JB welding it, perhaps you want to discontinue using the shelves to minimise the stress/load on the repaired crack?canuckland

I did keep the shelves off and I miss them already. But the BGE still works. Just extra carefull with her now.
