Another new Egger
Acoustic Blues
Posts: 12
Hello, just pulled the trigger on a new large BGE this afternoon and am looking forward to trying it out.
I'm a longtime Weber guy, been making 'Q' on a WSM for over 10 years and grilling on a Weber Kettle for about the same and love the results I get from them.
It was my son that convinced me to get a BGE after I experienced the results he got with his brand new large BGE on our visit to his home in Seattle. He got the BGE to replace an expensive POS gas grill that was only a couple of years old. He also cut his Q'n teeth on the WSM I gave him a few years ago.
It will be a week or so before I fire it up as I'm going to build a table with a green glass tile top.
Anyway, didn't mean my first post to be novel length, but just wanted to say hi and am enjoying the forum posts.

Congrats and Welcome to the cult!
Jammin Gee-tars and Eggin go hand in hand.
Oh ya...and Bagpipes too...but that's just me. -

I would set the egg up on bricks and cook while I work on the table. Course you might be eating all the time and never finish the table. Enjoy.

Welcome aboard....just ask questions, and experiment.

Welcome to the madness! I agree with the others though... cook now, build table later!
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

It isn't going to be easy, but I figured that since it's still in the box in pieces, that it would be easier to assemble in the table. These things are HEAVY!
Thanks for the welcome everybody.

AB, welcome. You can stack the WSM grids for multi-level cooks (e.g. smoked cheese, beef jerky) in the egg.

You will have a blast with it-as you can tell from the forum, you can cook anything on the egg. I've only had mine since Father's day and the whole family has enjoyed it-so much that I got a mini for Christmas.

Welcome to the forum, please post pic of your first cook. The people here are wonderful.

Welcome aboard and congrats on your new Egg. Many of us graduated to the Egg after years of Weber love.
PS. Cool handle, and thanks for choosing something unique.
