Chicken on the egg!

I tired a chicken last night that I got from searching this site for chicken. It was really simple and it was the best thing I cooked so far I even took a picture. THANK YOU THANK YOU

I searched for the words whole chicken and there was a question from December that asked the same thing. There was a lot of help and I did what everyone said. I slowed down and read it all and it was GREAT and I had no problems! It took it an hour and half at 375 the temps went up and down a bit.
here is the one I followed http://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&func=view&id=780527&catid=1
Some skin was a little soft and not to crisp but some was the best I ever had.
The cool part was this was the first thing my mom helped with she works at that truck stop and they have spatch cockchicken so she knew how to cut it in half. I was afraid to tell her the name of the recipe but when I said spatch cockchicken she said AHA I know that! So she cut it and I cooked it. She made gravy too for potatoes. And we had some boring vegetables that I pretend to eat.
Thanks everyone for your help I had fun this time. Tomorrow I am supposed to do ribs for the play offs. I don't watch football but the guys in the park are now calling me the cook oh no! It will be fun.
Someone asked how old I am I am 32. I would fill out my profile but tried to put in a picture and it did not work. If you help me there I can fill out that stuff.

Good lookin bird there. If you want good skin on your bird cook at the gasket line at 400. Also prep your chicken 12 hrs in advance with rub and let it sit in the fridge til you are ready to cook. Put it on the egg skinside down for 12-15 mins then turn over and cook to an internal of 165 (thigh) pull and let rest for 10 mins. Hoss is the true maven for this cook as well as .....loney! Then enjoy!

Keep it up Dave. A few more cooks under your belt and you'll notice your food getting better and better.

Wait til you see what's in my hip pocket for tonight's cook.

start the next one skin side down for 5-10 minutes, just check to prevent burning. This will give the skin a heads start on rendering out the fat.
