Publix Greenwise lump

I've been eggin for nearly 2yrs now. The only lump that I have used is Royal Oak (made in USA variety) and Publix Greenwise. I have came to the conclusion that the Greenwise burns just as hot, produces far less ash, and burns alot longer. At less than $6.00 for 8.8lbs, the Greenwise is always available here in Central Florida and the best bang for my buck. Happy New Year Eggheads

I use it all the time. Works great and doesn't burn up as fast Cowboy. I pay $5.49 for an 8.8lb bag.

Hi, Bill. I use the Greenwise too, it's very economical. It is well rated on the Naked Whiz lump charcoal database.
FaithHappily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Like it also. Sometimes they place it on sale around $4 bag. Got 20 bags last time.

Yep, I obviously liked it. I have to buy it when we go to Hilton Head. The Naked Whiz

You should like it. It's is the same as Royal Oak. Made by them for Publix. Kroger too is the same.

Yup, RO makes BGE Charcoal also. It all looks and burns the same to me. I either burn Royal Oak from Walmart at $6.37/10# or 64¢/# or Greenwise at $5.49/8.8# or 63¢/#.

Just cooked with my first bag of Publix lump and was very pleased with the results. I wish the 8.8# bags had larger pieces though, but I'm definitely not complaining about the price.

I have had good luck when I've used it. I like to catch it on sale and use a Publix coupon. That makes it very cost effective.
