Hey Chris,
Get a load of this Pineapple Head('s). :P
A Sea of Pineapples. Did ya know they grow on the ground? Did you know they don't get any more ripe, juicy, or sweet after the day they are picked? I felt stupid after I heard that.

Nice Pineapple. :P One time I got a couple pineapples from the farmers market end of a flea market and was told one was riper than the other so to use the ripest one first. I guess that was a lie! :pinch: Good to know. Tim

They do change colors...but thats all thats goin on.

its time to do the apple trick with the one growing in the kitchen. got one pineapple off it a year and a half ago, then a new shoot came up and its ready for another pineapple. takes along time to grow a pineapple
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
We saw that on a trip to Hawaii. Before that I always thought they grew on trees. Nature Boy should send them a jar to test out. They might be very interested in selling his product. Pineapple Head is one of my favorite Dizzy Pig rubs.

2 yrs and each plant can grow 2 and then ya gotta start over.

Having lived near fields of pineapple in my youth, I'd have to say yes, I already knew all that. Here's another: did you know if you cut the top off, you can plant it and grow another plant? The Naked Whiz

Hey Anne,
Ya as we drove by and didn't do the tour. I thought that exact thought. I have a bottle right here, actually. I brought the vitals, SV, PH, DD, R da S, S da T. As well as my Butt Rub.
Maybe I will take the tour....They would sell a pile of it I bet. -
Yup...Others can learn a bunch from the site.
-
i didnt get two with the first plant, just the one, a new plant popped up from the roots on the other side of the pot and the first plant died off, we will see what happens

Great idea Adam...never know when you're going to need that Butt Rub!! :woohoo:
-
I think ya get 1 and then 1 and then dead. Not 2 at once. Sounds like your second is on the way. Grab a seat and a drink, cause it'll be awhile. :P

I have 12 in the yard now but no fruit on any of them at the moment :(
-
Then you knew they didn't grow on trees.

Yep, we were right there in June. Beautiful place and the air smells of pineapple.
And some of the best lunch you can get on the islands is off some of those shrimp trucks around those parts. Unbelievably good! -
My mom used to try to grow avacados by suspending the pit in a cup of water with only half the pit in the water.
Never thought that stuff really worked...needless to say we never grew an avacado! You are the only person I've ever talked to who really grew a pineapple! GREEN EGG/GREEN THUMB!!
