Vendor Vent

I wish we had better vendors in town.
The big store closes at 6:00 and isn't open on Sunday, even though their web site says they are open.
Another store had no inventory, just brochures.
The closest store was out of most sizes of eggs. They complained they had to place a large order and wouldn't be getting any in until spring. My sons bought the wrong cover for me as a Christmas present. The store is closed until 1/4/10. If I waited until they opened, I was chancing them not having the cover I wanted.
Oh well....

My vendor didn't have drip pans in stock. However they are very nice and they offered to let me come in on a Saturday and cook with them. I am fortunate, I live right next door to Tucker, GA an can go to the company store and buy what I need. I will go this am to get my drip pans. My only real problem is everybody in my family is saying "don't buy anything, your birthday is Feb 6 and we will buy everything else you need." Heck, I am cooking on my BGE now, can't wait until Feb! LOL! :woohoo:

I'll join you in this vent. Our BBQs galore closed and now we are stuck with a vendor that charges 80 bucks for the large plate setter. He also charges 40 bucks a bag for BGE lump. We buy Royal Oak at Walmart now.
I'm torn between the fact he is the only local vendor and rips us off with the only other option a 3 hour drive.
I hope we get another BGE vendor in town.Egging on two larges + 36" Blackstone griddle -
yea i know what you mean the dealer in my town has such bad service that i keep waiting on them to show me where the propane tank hooks up :pinch:
happy eggin

Where do you live. I ran by a local store while on vacation and they are closed from 12/25 until 1/4. I should have remembered this from last year. I guess my memory is slipping.

Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I have a good knowledgeable dealer that has a good supply of eggs and parts and he just started carrying "DIZZY PIG" and soon I hope Todd's "CARNIVORE" :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

$40 for lump! I hope the stores in town don't read this. They'll be raising their prices. They tell me BGE charges them a lot.
BTW, I'm in Cincinnati -
You dont need a BGE drip pan. Any pan will work, even the disposables though that can get pricey after awhile. Just use an old metal pan and line it with tin foil for easier clean up.

i just make one from foil each time and toss it in the garbage when i'm done.
used the foil pizza pans when we had them, but as you said, starts to add up. -
I guess I'm lucky - there are two "well stocked" dealers 10 minutes from the house. One in Gainesville, Georgia...the other in Cumming. Mothership is 45 minutes away but there is no need - these two dealers have it all...and obviously sell the heck out of eggs.
The Gainesville dealer cooks every day outside the store and when I say cook - I mean they cook alot! They have 1-3 eggs going all the time. A few days before Christmas - they had a ton of cooked product packed and stacked with customer names labeled on them. Folks around here just love the egg.
On a different and concerning note - Primo is trying to move in on BGE's market up here. I noticed an XL Primo Oval at the Gainesville store cooking. The store owner said Primo brought one by to test and demo...and owner said it was a very nice unit.
Hey mothership - just a heads up - get your rep up here and run a promotion...and include a 1/2 moon and V-Rack for the small egg in it. :-)

I continually drive an hour and fifteen minutes from Rockford IL to get my Egg fixes. I pay about 18 dollars a 20#sack for BGE lump. I drive that way every now and then anyways when I go to Trader Joes's...
